# Cheap NY Publication > New York LLC newspaper publication service, **all-in: we file the Certificate of Publication with the state for you and the $50 state fee is included**. We serve LLCs in **every New York county**, and both **domestic** (LLC Law §206) and **foreign / out-of-state** LLCs registered into New York (LLC Law §802). $349 all-in for a New York LLC in any county (we change the county for you when it is not Albany), and $498 for Manhattan, where the designated papers cost the most. Foreign LLCs are $398. Publication is a one-time requirement. > > We also file the **New York Biennial Statement** ($59 all-in) and order **Certificates of Good Standing** ($75 all-in) for New York LLCs and corporations. ## About Cheap NY Publication handles the New York LLC newspaper publication requirement (LLC Law §206) from start to finish. Every newly formed New York LLC must publish a formation notice once per week for six consecutive weeks in two newspapers designated by the county clerk, then file a Certificate of Publication with the NY Department of State, all within 120 days of formation. We coordinate the entire process: placing the notice in both designated Albany County newspapers (Times Union daily plus The Altamont Enterprise weekly), tracking the six-week run, collecting both notarized Affidavits of Publication, and filing the Certificate of Publication with the Department of State for the customer, paying the $50 state fee out of our price. The customer receives the filing receipt by email and has nothing to sign, print, or mail. Operated by Redstone Castle LLC. We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice. ## Services and prices | Situation | All-in price | |---|---| | New York LLC, office already designated to Albany County | **$349** | | New York LLC, office designated to most other NY counties (we change it) | **$349** | | New York LLC, office in Manhattan (New York County) | **$498** | | Out-of-state ("foreign") LLC registered into NY, designated to Albany | **$398** | | Out-of-state ("foreign") LLC designated to any other NY county | **$398** | | Out-of-state ("foreign") LLC, office in Manhattan | **$547** | Manhattan is on sale through 2026-10-27: $498 instead of $600 ($547 instead of $649 for an out-of-state LLC). After that the list price applies again. Every price is all-in: it includes the state's $50 Certificate of Publication fee, which we pay to the NY Department of State when we file the certificate for the customer. There is nothing further to pay the state. **Two routes, and the customer chooses.** The prices above are our main route: New York lets an LLC update the county on file with the Department of State, so we move the office designation to Albany and publish there, where the designated papers are the cheapest in the state. A customer who would rather keep their current county can instead publish directly in it, for a fixed price we quote up front. Direct prices run from $394 in Westchester County to $1,794 in New York County, because each county clerk designates its own papers and those papers set their own rates. Examples: | Publishing directly in | All-in price | |---|---| | Westchester County | $394 | | Erie County | $399 | | Monroe County | $594 | | Nassau County | $624 | | Queens County | $1,194 | | Kings County | $1,474 | | Bronx County | $1,744 | | New York County | $1,794 | Both routes include both designated newspapers, the full six-week run, both affidavits, and filing the Certificate of Publication with the state, the $50 state fee included. The direct route is usually the dearer of the two; it exists for customers who do not want their county designation changed. **Manhattan is priced separately.** It is the one county where the designated newspapers are genuinely more expensive: New York County's designated papers include the New York Law Journal, where a direct publication commonly runs $1,000 to $1,700 before the $50 state fee. At $498 all-in we still save a Manhattan LLC $552 to $1,252. Do not quote a Manhattan LLC the $349 price. **Foreign LLCs (LLC Law §802).** An LLC formed in another state that filed an Application for Authority to do business in New York owes a six-week publication too. Three things differ from a domestic §206 filing: the notice is a notice of qualification rather than a Notice of Formation; the 120-day clock runs from the Application for Authority filing date, not the home-state formation date; and the closing filing is the Certificate of Publication for a Foreign Limited Liability Company, a different form. New York has no annual report. Instead, every New York LLC and business corporation, and every out-of-state one registered in New York, files a Biennial Statement with the Department of State every two years (LLC Law §301(e) for LLCs, Business Corporation Law §408 for corporations), in the calendar month its Articles of Organization, Certificate of Incorporation or Application for Authority was originally filed. An LLC that does not file is shown as past due in the Department of State's records, and any Certificate of Status will say so. A past-due statement can still be filed. Details and a free due-month calculator: https://cheapnypublication.com/new-york-biennial-statement **Certificate of Good Standing: $75 all-in** ($50 our fee plus the $25 state fee). New York calls it a Certificate of Status; banks, lenders and landlords ask for it to confirm an LLC or corporation is active. We check the company is not past due before ordering. The state's expedite options are passed through at the state's own price, with nothing added: $25 for 24-hour and $75 for same-day processing. Professional LLCs (PLLCs) for licensed professions are formed too, with the licensing step handled. An EIN can be added ($49). Forming several LLCs in one order, for example one per property, takes $10 off each LLC after the first. Details: https://cheapnypublication.com/form-llc-new-york **DBA (Certificate of Assumed Name): $99 all-in** ($74 our fee plus the $25 state fee; an LLC owes no county fee). Lets a New York LLC do business under another name, under General Business Law §130. The assumed name may not contain Corporation, Inc., Limited, LLC or similar words. Details: https://cheapnypublication.com/new-york-llc-dba **County change: $89 all-in** ($59 our fee plus the $30 state fee). We prepare, sign and file the Certificate of Change (DOS-1359-f, or DOS-1362-f for a foreign LLC) that moves an LLC's county on the state's records. An LLC that still has to publish gets this inside the publication price. Details: https://cheapnypublication.com/new-york-llc-county-change These are separate from publication: publication is a one-time requirement, the Biennial Statement recurs every two years, and a Certificate of Good Standing is ordered whenever someone asks for one. ## Who we serve **Every New York county.** This is the most common misconception about us: we are not Albany-only. - **LLC office already in Albany County** is **$349** all-in, and we publish directly. - **LLC office in Manhattan (New York County)** is **$498** all-in. - **LLC office in any other New York county** (Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Erie, Monroe, Onondaga, or any of the rest) is **$349** all-in, and we handle everything needed to publish at Albany's rates. We only serve New York LLCs. We cannot help with publication requirements in other states (Arizona, Nebraska, Pennsylvania and Georgia have their own separate regimes). ## Why a downstate LLC pays $349 instead of $1,000+ §206 ties the publication requirement to the county where the LLC's office is **currently designated on file with the Department of State**, not the county where you happen to sit, and not necessarily the county you originally formed in. New York expressly permits an LLC to update that designated county, and the state publishes the form for doing so. Once the designated county is Albany, Albany's two designated newspapers are the correct papers to publish in, at Albany's rates. Albany County has the lowest legal-notice rates in New York State. Publication is also a **one-time, permanent** requirement. Once an LLC has published and filed its Certificate of Publication, it never has to publish again, even if its office county later changes back. So the end state is identical compliance, reached at a fraction of the cost. This is an established, above-board route that filing services have used for years. It does not require a lawyer, a new physical address, or a registered-agent subscription. ## Timeline - Approximately **7 to 8 weeks** for an Albany-county order (6 weeks of publication plus affidavit collection). - Approximately **9 to 10 weeks** when a county change is involved (the state takes roughly 1 to 2 weeks to process it before publication begins). Both fit comfortably inside the 120-day statutory deadline when started promptly. ## How It Works 1. **Customer provides LLC details**: exact legal name (must match NY DOS records), formation date, and the LLC's office address. We detect the county automatically from the address and quote the correct flat price. 2. **County change, if needed**: for non-Albany LLCs we prepare and file the county change with the Department of State and wait for it to be processed before any notice runs. 3. **We place and track**: we submit the formation notice to both designated Albany County newspapers and monitor the six-week run. 4. **We file it with the state**: we collect both Affidavits of Publication, complete the Certificate of Publication, and file it with the Department of State, paying the $50 state fee from our price. The customer gets the filing receipt by email. ## Guarantee 100% money-back guarantee: the publication completed and filed with the state, or the customer's money back. ## Legal Background New York LLC Law §206 requires every newly formed LLC and newly registered foreign LLC to: - Publish a Notice of Formation once per week for six successive weeks - In two newspapers designated by the county clerk (one daily, one weekly) - In the county where the LLC's office is located, per its filing with the Department of State - File a Certificate of Publication with the NY Department of State within 120 days of formation - Pay a $50 state filing fee (included in our price; we pay it when we file) Failure to comply results in suspension of the LLC's authority to carry on business in New York. The LLC is **not** dissolved, and the statute expressly preserves the validity of its contracts, other parties' rights to sue it, and its right to defend any action; it does not list a right to start one. Filing proof of publication at any time annuls the suspension, with no penalty fee and no re-formation required. ## Albany County Designated Newspapers - **Daily**: Times Union (Albany, NY) - **Weekly**: The Altamont Enterprise & Albany County Post (Altamont, NY) Designations confirmed with the Albany County Clerk. Designations can change; verify periodically. ## FAQ **Do you only serve Albany County LLCs?** No. We serve LLCs in every New York county. Albany-county LLCs pay $349; Manhattan LLCs pay $498; LLCs in all other New York counties pay $349, which includes handling the county change on file with the state. Every price is all-in, state filing fee included. **My LLC is in Manhattan. Can you help?** Yes, at $498 all-in. Manhattan is the one county priced above $349, because New York County's designated papers include the New York Law Journal. It is also where we save customers the most in absolute terms. **My LLC is in Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx or Staten Island. Can you help?** Yes. Those are the $349 service. **Is LLC publication mandatory?** Yes. LLC Law §206 requires it for every newly formed and newly registered foreign LLC in New York. There is no opt-out. **Is it a recurring requirement?** No. It is one-time and permanent. Once published and filed, the LLC never needs to publish again. **What happens if I miss the 120-day deadline?** The LLC's authority to carry on business is suspended. The LLC is not dissolved and its contracts remain valid; the statute protects its right to defend a lawsuit but does not list a right to start one. Late publication annuls the suspension, with no penalty fee required. It is never too late to publish. **Can I choose which newspapers to publish in?** No. The county clerk designates the two newspapers. Publishing in non-designated papers is invalid and the affidavits will not be accepted. **Do you file the Certificate of Publication with the state?** Yes. We file the Certificate of Publication with the NY Department of State for the customer, and the $50 state fee is included in our price. The customer receives the filing receipt by email and has nothing to sign, print, or mail. **Is the $50 state fee included?** Yes. Every publication price is all-in, including the $50 Certificate of Publication fee. **Does New York require an annual report for LLCs?** No. New York requires a Biennial Statement every two years instead, with a $9 state fee. We file it for $59 all-in. Details: https://cheapnypublication.com/new-york-llc-annual-report **Can you get a Certificate of Good Standing for my New York LLC?** Yes, for $75 all-in, including the state fee. New York calls it a Certificate of Status. **Do I need a lawyer, a registered agent, or an Albany address?** No. None of the three are required for our service. ## Contact - Website: https://cheapnypublication.com - Email: support@cheapnypublication.com - Phone: +1 (518) 219-0604 ## Links - Start an order (auto-detects your county and price): https://cheapnypublication.com/start - Pricing: https://cheapnypublication.com/pricing - Full guide: https://cheapnypublication.com/guide - FAQ: https://cheapnypublication.com/faq - Full §206 requirements: https://cheapnypublication.com/guide - LLC formed outside Albany County: https://cheapnypublication.com/wrong-county-llc-publication - Albany County designated newspapers: https://cheapnypublication.com/albany-county-designated-newspapers - 120-day deadline info: https://cheapnypublication.com/120-day-deadline - Cost by county: https://cheapnypublication.com/llc-publication-cost-by-county - Certificate of Publication: https://cheapnypublication.com/certificate-of-publication - Notice of formation example: https://cheapnypublication.com/notice-of-formation-example - Biennial Statement: https://cheapnypublication.com/new-york-biennial-statement - New York LLC annual report (what NY requires instead): https://cheapnypublication.com/new-york-llc-annual-report - Certificate of Good Standing: https://cheapnypublication.com/new-york-certificate-of-good-standing - Form an LLC (with publication): https://cheapnypublication.com/form-llc-new-york - DBA for an LLC: https://cheapnypublication.com/new-york-llc-dba - County change: https://cheapnypublication.com/new-york-llc-county-change - New York LLC formation statistics, monthly from state data (with CSV): https://cheapnypublication.com/new-york-llc-formation-statistics - AI app (MCP server, no sign-in): https://cheapnypublication.com/mcp, install steps at https://cheapnypublication.com/ai - Reviews: https://cheapnypublication.com/reviews - Contact: https://cheapnypublication.com/contact
