Privacy Policy
Effective July 5, 2026
Cheap NY Publication is operated by Redstone Castle LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and your choices.
What we collect
Only what the service needs: your email address and phone number, your LLC's legal name, Department of State ID and filing date, and its office address. For an out-of-state (foreign) LLC we also collect the registered address in its home jurisdiction, because a §802 notice has to carry both. Payment card details go directly to Stripe — we never see or store your card number. We also keep basic order records (status, dates, the documents produced for your filing) and, for Biennial Statement customers, the month the next one falls due so we can remind you.
We also look your LLC up in New York's public business register (data.ny.gov) to confirm its name, ID, entity type and filing date. That is public record, we send only your LLC's name and ID to do it, and we never send your personal details there.
Your phone number
We ask for a phone number because newspapers and the Department of State are slow and sometimes unreachable by email, and when an order stalls a call is the only way to resolve it. We use it for that and nothing else — no marketing calls, no texts, and we never sell or share it.
How we use it
To publish your formation notice (your LLC name and county appear in the newspapers — that's the legally required point of the service), to assemble your Certificate of Publication packet, to email you order updates and your finished packet, to provide support, and to keep records of the service we performed. We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the parties required to deliver the service: the two designated Albany County newspapers (the notice text, which is published by design), and our service providers — Stripe (payments), Supabase (database and document storage), Resend (email delivery), Vercel (hosting), Cloudflare (domain/DNS and email routing), and the U.S. Census Bureau geocoder (address verification; only the address is sent). We may also disclose information if required by law, to comply with legal process, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
How we protect it
Data is transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS) connections and stored with reputable providers that maintain industry-standard safeguards. Access is limited to the people who operate the service. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Retention & your choices
We keep order records and publication documents while your order is active and for a reasonable period afterward, since affidavits and certificates may be needed if the State ever questions your filing. You may request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal information at any time by emailing us; we will honor it except where we are required to retain records for legal, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
Children
The service is for adults forming businesses and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Cookies & tracking
The site works without advertising trackers. We use only what's needed to operate — for example, Stripe's checkout and basic, privacy-respecting analytics if enabled.
Changes & contact
We may update this policy; the "effective" date above shows the latest version. Privacy questions, or copy/correction/deletion requests: support@cheapnypublication.com.
